Plant Finder is a public tool for narrowing down an unfamiliar plant from a photo or a written observation. It is for houseplant owners, gardeners, walkers, and curious learners who have found a leaf, flower, shrub, or tree and want a sensible place to begin.

It returns possible matches, not a claim of certainty. The useful part comes next: compare the suggested features with the plant in front of you, then consult public botanical references when they are available.

What the tool does

You can upload one clear image, or describe what you noticed in ordinary language. The site uses that evidence to build a short, structured list of possibilities and may add links to public botanical references afterwards.

The core experience does not ask for an account, subscription, payment, saved collection, or personal profile.

What the tool does not do

Plant Finder does not replace local expertise or make safety decisions. Do not use a result alone to decide whether to eat, touch, use as medicine, remove, or harvest a plant. Look-alike species, local conditions, and seasonal changes all matter.

For an important identification, compare more than one feature and consult a qualified local source: a botanist, extension service, herbarium, or relevant land manager.
