This policy explains how Plant Finder handles information when you visit the site or request an AI-assisted plant identification. The site is for general audiences and is not a place to submit sensitive personal information.
Information you provide
When you use the tool, you may provide a plant photo, a written description, and optional context such as where the plant was found. Do not upload faces, home addresses, personal documents, or anything unrelated to identifying a plant.
AI processing
Your submitted input travels through the site's hosting and AI-processing infrastructure to generate a response. The public tool does not require an account and is not intended to create a visitor profile. Service providers may process request data under their own security, abuse-prevention, and retention practices.
Security verification and logs
The site may use Cloudflare Turnstile or a comparable anti-abuse check before an AI request is sent. Standard server, security, and error logs may process technical details such as IP-derived security signals, browser information, and request timing to operate and protect the service.
Public botanical references
After an identification result, the site may request public information from sources such as GBIF or Wikipedia. Those providers receive the plant-name query, not the original photo or written description, unless their own service behavior says otherwise.
Cookies and advertising
The site may use essential cookies for interface preferences and security. If advertising services such as Google AdSense are enabled, they and their partners may use cookies or similar technologies for ad delivery and measurement under their own policies. Applicable consent choices are handled according to the deployment's regional configuration.
Retention and requests
The operator should retain operational data only for as long as it is needed for security, debugging, legal obligations, and service operation. For a privacy request, email support@aiplantidentifier.net and describe the request without sending unnecessary sensitive information.
Children and safety
Plant Finder is not directed to children under 13. The tool is not a source of medical, dietary, toxicity, or safety advice. Consult qualified local expertise for high-stakes plant questions.
